HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES

Quentin Atkinson is the son of Elbert Atkinson (LaTonya) and Jacqueline Jones. He is the grandson of Elizabeth Mitchener of Wendell, NC and the late Joe Atkinson. He is a 2012 graduate of Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. Quentin is currently attending Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, GA and plans to play football.


Alyssa Katrina Peavy is the daughter of Alfred and Denise Peavy Jr, and the younger sister of Kascha Peavy. Alyssa is a graduate of Clayton High School. After graduation Alyssa has decided to join the US Army, which she is very excited about. This will give her an opportunity to serve her country and pursue her career ambitions. Alyssa favorite scripture is “If ye ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14), by God’s grace and favor Alyssa has overcome life’s struggles.


Brittany Nicole Robinson is the daughter of LaTonya Atkinson (Elbert) and Harold Robinson, Jr. She is a 2012 graduate of West Johnston High School. Post-graduation, Brittany plans to attend Barton College where she will obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and an Associate’s degree in Spanish. Brittany has achieved honor roll and principals list throughout high school while retaining a part time job as a cashier. The first scripture she learned is “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”


LaToya Gabryell Stallings is the daughter of Kenneth Stallings and the late Deborah Stallings and the granddaughter of Winslow Williamson and the late Inez Williamson. She is a 2012 graduate of Garner Senior High School and will be attending North Carolina Central University in the fall of this year, majoring in sports medicine. Her favorite scripture is John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”


Kimberly Shea Vinson is the daughter of Isaac O. and Sharon L. Vinson and the granddaughter of Alice Lassiter, the late Leamon W. Lassiter and the late Dazell Marshall. She is a graduate of West Johnston High School where she was a Principal’s List student and a member of the National Honor Society. Shea is an upcoming freshman at East Carolina University where she will major in Exercise Science. She was an active member of the Sports Med Program/Club at West Johnston which sparked her dream of becoming a Physical Therapist. Her plans are to obtain her doctorates in the Physical Therapy field. She serves as JPG’s Sunday School Secretary, Youth Missionary Secretary, and a member of the JPG Youth Ushers’ ministry. Shea was crowned the 2012 Clayton Branch NAUW Green and White Ball Queen. Shea’s favorite scripture is Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.


QuaNesha Jona’ Warren is the daughter of Deborah Sanders and Billy Warren (Monica). She is the maternal granddaughter of Pearline Sanders Williams and the late James Williams and the paternal granddaughter of Alice Warren and the late William Warren. She is a 2012 graduate of Smithfield-Selma High School. QuaNesha plans to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. One of her favorite inspirational scriptures are Luke 1:37: “For with God nothing shall be impossible” and one of her favorite inspirational songs is “He Has His Hands On You.”


Linildrea Williamson “Shea”, a graduate of Enloe High School is the daughter of Yolanda Hinton and Lanaldre Williamson and the granddaughter of Earmie Williamson. She will be attending Wake Technical Community College in the fall to major in Early Childhood Education. Her favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13


Taiesha M. Young is a 2012 Clayton High School graduate. She is the daughter of Louis and Sharien Young. Her mission is to become a Medical or Trauma surgeon and help better the lives of others. She is involved in the H.O.S.A. Club and the Ladies of Vision Club at her school. She will be attending Winston Salem State University in the upcoming fall semester. She will be majoring in Biology – Pre Med and her minor will be Psychology. She is very excited to become a WSSU RAM!!!! Taiesha’s favorite quote is “Every setback is a setup for a comeback” –anonymous.


COLLEGE GRADUATES

Devin Margaretta Barnes is the daughter of Dennis and Betty Barnes and also the God daughter of Isaac and Sharon Vinson. She graduated from Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School and Winston-Salem State University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science in 2008. Devin earned a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy at Howard University in Washington, DC while also being inducted into Epsilon Tau Sigma Honor Society. She received her white coat in December 2011 and her cap and gown May 10, 2012. She is currently studying to take the National Physical Therapy Examination and plans to work as a traveling Physical Therapist and focus on her career. Devin’s favorite scripture: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6


Sheheira Finch is the daughter of Lynton and Jenifer Ray. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education from Winston Salem State University and a Birth to Kindergarten certification from Shaw University in Raleigh NC. Continuing her educational journey, she is proud to receive a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Capella University. Sheheira’s favorite scripture is Isaiah 54:17, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.”


Sophirene Hinton is the daughter of the late Matthew and Betty Mae Hinton. She is a graduate of Clayton High School, and an advocate for the Guardian Ad Litem Program. She is the mother of two and a grandmother of three. Sophirene graduated from Johnston Community College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science (Criminal Justice). Her plans are to continue her studies this fall in Latent Evidence of Criminal Justice. Her inspirational scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me.”


Harold William Lassiter is the son of Alice Lassiter and the late Leamon W. Lassiter. He is a 1998 graduate of Clayton High School and a June 2012 graduate of ICDC College in Southern California where he majored in Alcohol and Drug Counseling. He is currently interning with “A New Start Support Services” of Clayton, NC. Harold is the fiancé of Vanessa Branch and the father of two daughters, Trinity and Shymira. Harold’s favorite prayer is “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.”


Rev. Calvin Wayne Morrison is a 2012 graduate of Shaw University with a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies. He is the son of the late Margret and Lonnie Morrison and the father of Lacala Morrison. Rev. Morrison plans to continue his studies for his masters of divinity at Shaw University.


Jenifer Ray is the wife of Lynton Ray Sr., a mother, grandmother, and a community leader. She is the daughter of Leon and Shirley Sanders. After receiving her Associates degree from Johnston Community College is honored to be graduating from Mount Olive College with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Ray has been in the education field for over thirty years. Jenifer’s favorite scripture is James 4:2-3 “Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.


Linda F. Richardson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James & Dorothy Richardson. She is a proud parent with one daughter, Krystal Cheyvonne and a proud grandmother of Aliyah Janae. In 2009, Linda received her B.A. degree in Business Administration/concentration in Human Resources from Strayer University. Linda will graduate from Strayer University with her MBA in Business Management. Favorite scripture: Philippians 4:13 “I have the strength of face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.”


Nina Stone Russell is a native of Clayton, NC and the daughter of Pauline and Nelson Stone. Nina is a 2003 graduate of Clayton High School, 2008 graduate of Barton College with a B.S Degree in Gerontology and a September 2011 Graduate of Strayer University with a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration. She now resides in Raleigh with her husband, Joel Barrett Russell and their two beautiful children Joel Jr. and Jael. She is currently employed with the State of North Carolina. Nina’s favorite scripture is Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.


Janae A. Smith is the daughter of Stephanie A. Smith and George L. Smith and the granddaughter of Lena M. Smith and the late George Smith. Janae is a graduate of Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School and a 2012 graduate of NC A&T University with a BS in Journalism and Mass Communication (Electronic Media & Journalism). Janae plans on furthering her education by attending graduate/law school. Janae’s favorite scripture is “And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28.


Jon Marc Dowd-Smith is the son of Mrs. Janice D. Smith and the late Mr. Robert R. Smith of Garner, NC. Jon graduated from North Carolina A&T State University on December 10, 2011 with a degree in Business Management. He is currently employed with the FED EX Company located in Kernersville, NC. He plans to further his education in the near future and is considering a career in the military. His guiding scriptural verse is keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”


Rheagan Janelle Turner is the daughter of Janice Turner and the granddaughter of Sister Lunnie Williamson and the late Deacon Donzell Williamson, Sr. Rheagan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro May 3, 2012, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a minor in Sociology. Rheagan is currently working full-time as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide at Spring Arbor of Raleigh assisted living facility. Her favorite scripture: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
