She is a 2010 graduate of West Johnston High School. Julia plans on going to the United States Navy to pursue a career in computer engineering after high school.

Jasmine Breona Atkinson is the daughter of Carla& Darryl Washington and the granddaughter of Carter and the Late Ora Lee Atkinson. Jasmine will graduate from Garner Magnet High School. Jasmine will attend NC A&T to pursue a BS degree in Chemistry and minor in Criminal Justice. Her plans after graduating from NC A&T is to Attend Virginia Commonwealth University to obtain her Master’s in Forensic Science. Jasmine’s aspiration is to become a Forensic Scientist.

ashleynicolebryantAshley Nicole Bryant is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred E. Bryant, Jr. (Bridgett). She is a graduate of Clayton High School. Ashley will pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at N.C. A&T State University. Ashley’s aspiration is to become a microbiologist.

Her favorite scripture is “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” St. John 3:16

SINCLAIREGarrington Sinclair Cooper is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Cameron (Angela), and the grandson of Ms. Elvivian B. Brown. He graduated of Millbrook High School. While in high school, Garrington played JV football, and was part of the Drama Club and Theater Technical Crew for four years. He will attend Wake Technical Community College for one year and then transfer to a four year college where he will work on his degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Schools Garrington is interested in attending are Appalachian State University, North Carolina A&T and North Carolina State.

vincentrayfaisonjrVincent Ray Faison, Jr. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Ray Faison, Sr. (Jennifer). Vincent is a graduate of Clayton High School. He will attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with an undecided major. He will possibly major in business or mass media and communications.

Joshua Immanuel Justice is the son of Phyllis and Derrick Justice. He is a senior at Clayton High School. He will attend North Carolina A & T University. He plans to major in Computer Engineering. This summer he will be interning at his uncle’s computer firm in Chicago, IL. He is looking forward to his new experiences.

antoniomauricepadgetjrAntonio Maurice Padget, Jr. is the son of Mrs. Michelle Roberts and the grandson of Pastor and Mrs. Theodore Breeden (Mattie). He is a 2010 graduate of Southern Durham High School. Antonio will attend North Carolina State University in the fall. He has been accepted into the Leadership Learning Village at NC State. He has remained active throughout his four years of high school as a member of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars, the National Honor Society, and Future Business Leaders of America. He is also the Academic Chair of Student African American Brotherhood, the Marching Band Percussion Captain, President of Chi Omega Lambda High School Fraternity, and former Junior Class President. Antonio is involved in his community through Durham Wayfinders Volunteer Group, Aids Walk, Jack-and-Jill Durham Chapter, “Think Pink” for Breast Cancer Awareness, Habitat for Humanity, and the Triangle Heart Walk. His hobbies are music production, playing basketball and spending time with his family and friends. One thing that remains constant for Antonio is words that has been expressed and embedded in him from his family: “If I believe I can achieve.”

Destiny Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Smith. She is a graduate of Garner Magnet High School. She plans to attend NC Central University and pursue a major in Accounting. Upon completion I plan to attend NC Central University School of Law.

Shirley Christina Townsend is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Townsend (Deborah). She is a 2010 graduate of West Johnston High School. Shirley will attend Fayetteville State University in the fall.

Devonte’ Williamson is the son of Sonia Gayle and the grandson of Earmine Williamson. He is a 2010 graduate of Sanderson High School. He will attend the Police Academy BLET program.

LaShunda is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in History. She will attend Wake Forest University on an Academic Fellowship to pursue a Masters Degree in Social Studies Education. LaShunda’s aspirations are to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Education or Public Policy and to become an advocate for educational justice.

revajadonturnerReva JaDon Turner is the daughter of Ricky and Janice Turner and the granddaughter of Deacon Donzell and Sister Lunnie Williamson. Reva graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on December 17, 2009, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Performance, majoring in Recreation & Parks Management. Reva currently has a full-time position with Carmax and a part-time position with Grasshopper Stadium, both located in Greensboro where Reva plans to make her home.

Her favorite scripture: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

 

cassidaniellevinsonCassi Danielle Vinsonis  the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Vinson (Sharon) and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leamon Lassiter (Alice) and the late Ms. Dazell Marshall. She is a May 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting and a minor in Journalism. Cassi is presently employed with the NC State Employees Credit Union.

Her favorite scripture is Isaiah 40:31: “They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

 

 

sharoncelecialassitervinsonSharon Celecia Lassiter Vinson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leamon Lassiter (Alice). She is married to Isaac Vinson and they have three daughters, Natalie (Cornelius), Cassi and Shea, as well as, one granddaughter, Celecia. Sharon will graduate from Mount Olive College in August 2010 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management. She is a 1981 graduate of Clayton High School and currently holds an Associate’s Degree from Johnston Community College. Sharon is presently employed as Assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Meredith College.
