Class of 2014 High School Graduates

 

Tahiara Nashay Clark
Tahiara Nashay Clark is the daughter of KaSette Clark and Eric Poston and the granddaugter of Billy Thorpe, Bettie Mitchell, Janet and the late Willie Poston. Shay is a soon to be graduate of Clayton High where she is an honor roll student. She is an upcoming freshman at North Carolina Central University where she will major in Business Administration and minor in Social Work. Shay’s heart transplant inspired her plans to become a Child-life Specialist and help other children with life-threatening illnesses. In her spare time she counsels heart transplant candidates at Duke University Medical Hospital.

 

 


John Walter Draughon JrJohn Walter Draughon, Jr is the son of John Walter Draughon, Sr and Bridgette Marie Scarboro. Grandson of John Martin, Jr, Anna Neal and Ester Draughon. Graduated from Needham Broughton High School. Interested in studying Communication in Broadcasting. Favorite scripture is Romans 12:1-21 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God I’m currently doing an internship at WRAL TV Station.

 

 


Kiana Nicole HallKiana Nicole Hall is the daughter of William and Kathy Hall and the granddaughter of Winslow Williamson and the late Inez Williamson. She is a 2014 graduate of Garner Magnet High School. In the fall, Kiana plans on attending North Carolina State University where she will major in Business Management. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13″.

 

 

 


Raynall HudginsRaynall Hudgins is the son of Gary and Sharon Hudgins and the brother to three older siblings. He is originally from Westland, Michigan. Raynall moved to Clayton, NC when he was in the 7th grade and attended Clayton Middle School where he excelled in football, all while being on the A/B/ Honor Roll. He will graduate from Clayton High School on June 13, 2014. In the Fall, Raynall plans to attend Livingstone College to pursue a degree in Business Management. He would someday like to become a prominent entrepreneur. Raynall’s favorite scripture is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

 

 

 


Dasia Monet KirbyDasia Mone’t Kirby is the daughter of Claudia Clark and William Kirby III, and the granddaughter of the late Connie Clark, Lillie Kirby, William and Sharon Kirby, Roderick and Sonya Lassiter. She is mother of Bradyn Terry. Dasia is a 2014 graduate of Clayton High School and will be attending The University of North Carolina at Pembroke after graduation to become a Physical Therapist. While in high school, Dasia made Principal’s List and Honor Roll. She also joined HOSA her freshman year.

 

 

 

 


Rhonda Denise RoyalRhonda Denise Royal is the daughter of Geraldine Royal and Ronnie Royal (Rosita). She is the granddaughter of James and the Rev. Dorothy Richardson, George Royal and the late Mary Royal. She has one sister Amber Royal and one step-brother MaQuinn Nnadi. Rhonda sings in the youth choir, and is a member of the dance praise team. Rhonda is a 2014 graduate of Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School(SERHS) were she was a member of the Sport Med for the football and basketball team and is a member of the MSEN pre college. Rhonda will be attending A&T University in Greensboro NC were she will major in Sports Med and minor in communication. Rhonda’s favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.”

 


Austin Patterson WilliamsAustin Patterson Williams is the son of Drs. Harry L. and Robin D. Williams. He is a graduate of Dover High School, Dover, Delaware where he ranked #8 out of 365 in his graduating class. Austin has been accepted to Howard University for the 2014-2015 school term with academic and athletic scholarships. He is a Second Team All-State in Soccer and a First Team All-Conference in Soccer at Dover High School. Austin’s guidance scripture is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me.”

 

 

 


Class of 2014 College Graduates

 

Ashley BryantAshley Bryant is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred E. Bryant, Jr. (Bridgett) and the granddaughter of Elizabeth (Jean) Boylan and Mr. & Mrs. Alfred E. Bryant, Sr., (Helen). She is a May 2014 graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelors degree in Sport Science and Fitness Management with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy. Ashley is also a member of Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity. She will be attending Appalachian State University in the Fall of 2014 to obtain her Master’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Her career goal is to work as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at a Cardiac-Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center.

 

 

 

 


Vincent Ray Faison JrVincent Ray Faison, Jr. is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent and Jennifer Faison, Sr. Vincent graduated from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While being a four-year member of the UNCW Rugby Club, Vincent has served as president and treasurer. Under Vincent’s leadership the team was able to secure three consecutive conference championships, a 33-0 home winning streak, one DII Elite 8 appearance, and two National DII Sweet 16 appearances. In the summer of 2014, he hopes to earn a position on the USA Rugby South Team. Aside from athletic involvement, Vincent served as the Campus Representative for CreateMyTee.com. In one semester he was able to generate over $2,500 in sales for the company. Also, Vincent is a student member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. He will continue his education at UNCW’s Cameron School of Business and will earn a Master of Science in Accountancy. Upon successful completion of a MSA, Vincent plans to take a Certified Public Accountant exam in hopes of pursing a professional career in public accounting as a staff auditor.


Angelina HargroveAngelina Hargrove graduated with honors on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from Claflin University. As a cum laude graduate she maintained a 3.6 GPA and gained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. During her matriculation at Claflin University she achieved the Dean’s list while working as a lab assistant on renewable biofuel research, became a NASA Student Ambassador after working as an intern at the Space life science research at NASA Kennedy Space Center, and studied aboard in the Student Exchange program at Boston University. With a bright future ahead of her, Angelina has been accepted to three graduate schools in Clinical Nutrition and one Doctoral program in Chiropractics. As for the summer she will be teaching high school students biology and pre-calculus in a summer STEMS Program in South Carolina. With all the guidance and assurance in Christ, she looks forward to endless possibilities. She knows with the help of her Lord and savior all things are possible.

 


Sean Markale KirbySean Markale Kirby is the son of Mr. William H. Kirby III and Mrs. Sharon P. Kirby of Clayton, NC. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, North Carolina on May 10, 2014. Sean is currently employed at a local Walmart Supercenter in Greensboro where he is rapidly ascending in rank with hopes of ultimately working for the corporate office in Arkansas. His favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

 

 


Reverend Eva L MitchellReverend Eva L. Mitchell is the daughter of the late Leroy and Penella B. Lane, wife of the late James L. Mitchell and mother of Tilola Mitchell Robinson. She graduated on May 9, 2014 from Justice Fellowship Bible College with a Doctor of Biblical Studies. One of her favorite scriptures is 1Corinthians 2:9 “No eyes have seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him”and one of her favorite hymns is “Just A Little Talk With Jesus.”

 

 

 

 


John Marc Dowd-SmithJohn Marc Dowd-Smith is the son of Mrs. Janice D. Smith and the late Mr. Robert R. Smith of Garner, NC. He received his MBA from The Forbes School of Business, Ashford University, Clinton, Iowa on May 3, 2014. Currently, he is employed as an Operations Coordinator with Fed Ex Ground, Roanoke, VA. John Marc’s scripture for living is Psalm 25:9 – “The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.”

 


Latoya StallingsLatoya Stallings is the daughter of Kenneth Stallings and the late Deborah Stallings. My grandparents are Winslow Williamson and the late Inez Williamson. I will be a 2014 graduate majoring in medical assistance. My favorite scripture is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

 

 

 


Shirley Townsend.pngShirley Townsend is the daughter of Sam and Deborah Townsend, the sister of Sam Townsend Jr. and the granddaughter of the late Shirley Hawkins, James Faulk, and late Vernice and David Townsend. She is a Cum Laude, Chancellor List graduate of Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville North Carolina. Townsend is involved in numerous programs and clubs supporting youth development, community service, women’s empowerment, academic success, and mentorship such as National Council of Negro Women, Bronco Women, The Voice Student Newspaper, Office of College Access Programs, National Honors Society of Leadership and Success (Alpha Sigma Pi) and more. She is a business owner of Surely A Delight online boutique. Post-graduation, Shirley aspires to seek further education and become employed with a youth development department (Office of College Access Programs) at Fayetteville State University.
